Lot # 1 – 1948 Champion Spark Plugs- “Banquet of Champions” Presentation Photo Folder- Near Mint!- George Mikan, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, Ben Hogan, etc! Truly awesome album with great “7-1/2” x 9-1/2” black & white pictures of many of the great sports stars of the day! 30 great photos in all. The banquet was held in Toledo Ohio and sponsored by the Champion Spark Club Company and its’ President Robert A. Stranahan. The list of 24 athletes present in the group shot were Ned Day, Myron Fohr, Ted Schoeder, Jack Kramer, Guy Lombardo, Bob Mathias, Buddy O’Conner, Willie Turnesa, Frank Stranahan, Lloyd Mangrum, Ben Hogan, Bob Chappius, Charlie Trippi, Charlie Justice, Bruce Harlan, Dick Rifenberg, Miller Anderson, Willie Hoppe, Johnny Sain, George Mikan, Bob Kurland, Lou Boudreau, Joe DiMaggio, and Stan Musial. All 24 are pictured in a group shot on page one and most are pictured in other pictures- some multiple times- along with Ohio government officials, Red Grange, Happy Chandler, Don Hutson, Harry Wismer, The Ink Spots(entertainment), and journalists.
